Aerial Building Assessments

Virtual FM, specialise in unmanned aircraft  vehicles (drones) for building assessments and surveys.  Drones can survey buildings safer, quicker and are less expensive than hiring access equipment and a call out from a contractor to inspect. Virtual FM provide the video and photographic reports that allow our clients to progress to obtaining quotes for repair. High level areas on any building is high risk but it is essential to assess storm damage, water leaks, roof and fabric integrity or unstable masonry or cladding. This is especially true of fragile roofs, skylights and areas devoid of edge protection or mansafe systems.

As part of integrity assessments, our aerial survey will take flight over your building and assess the external envelope (i.e. building fabric, steelwork, roofs, guttering, skylights, cladding and glazing). Our services will assess the condition of asbestos cement roofs as part of asbestos management inspections . Surveys can also review the operation of roof mounted smoke ventilation systems from the air, quickly identifying defective ventilators from a prime viewpoint. Our chimney inspections assess structural integrity with 4k video and thermal assessments to verify hot spots and thinning without the use of ladder access.

Virtual FM are commercial drone specialists which means we are trained, authorised and fully insured with £5m public and property insurance for commercial aerial work using unmanned aircraft.
